IT is that time of year again: Gannett Foundation applications are being sought by community groups looking for donations of between £5,000 and £10,000.
Newsquest Oxfordshire, our parent company, invites applications each year for registered charities looking for grants towards substantial projects that require and merit awards of between £5,000 and £10,000.
It is now down to you to download and fill out the attached application form below, and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also post it to us at Newsquest Oxfordshire, Osney Mead, Oxford, OX2 0EJ. Applications that arrive after 5pm on Monday, September 16, 2013 will not be accepted.
Please be aware that only applications using this form will be accepted. Forms from the Gannett Foundation's American website or any other Newsquest publication will be rejected.
We support those registered charities with projects which take a creative approach to fundamental issues such as education and neighbourhood improvements, economic development, youth development, local problem-solving, assistance to disadvantaged or disabled people, environmental conservation and cultural enrichment.
We value projects that bring lasting benefits to communities served by our local newspapers and websites. While preference may be given to ideas which create a durable legacy for the community, we will consider single events or projects of limited duration that otherwise meet our criteria.
We will then review applications and forward the best ones to the Gannett Foundation - a charitiable arm of our parent company Gannett Co, Inc - to decide which lucky groups receive grants.
The Trustees will NOT consider applications
• that are not on the official form (including applications made on forms downloaded from the Gannett USA website);
• that do not give full answers, or fail to supply all data and materials requested in the official form; or
• from organisations or causes that are not registered charities.
The Trustees will NOT give money:
• to general appeals;
• for salaries or general running costs;
• to political or religious organisations; or
• to state or privately run schools (other than special needs) or hospitals (other than hospices).
Details are given in the attached application form and no further information is available by telephoning Newsquest Oxfordshire. All paperwork submitted must be on A4 and single-sided only.
