SIR, The founders must be turning in their graves.

Being a trustee of the BSA should be seen as an honour and a privilege to serve your local community. To do it with pride with no thought of reward, other than to be respected by your local peers for the good job you are doing.

If you are not prepared to carry out your duties on this basis then I would suggest you are not the right person or persons for the job. Kindly vacate your posts and let somebody that really cares take over.

This is not rocket science. A plot of land was left for the sole purpose of allowing Bicester people to play sport on it. End of story. Costs do not need to be incurred or even charged for the use of this land. You simply allow the the footall, cricket or rugby clubs permission to use it. From then on it is up to the respective clubs to look after it themselves. Volunteers will cut grass, mark pitches etc etc. This promotes community. What the BSA has served up is sport that is unaffordable to the local community.

And to kill off Bicester’s premier football team was simply unforgivable.

The whole of the Oxford Road Site should be converted to Village Green Status.
