FOOTBALL League clubs have received a double financial boost following a meeting at St George’s Park today.
The broadcasting agreement with Sky Sports has been extended for a season to cover the 2018-19 campaign.
Across the four seasons it is the most lucrative in the Football League’s history.
There is also a new arrangement with the Premier League, which will see a redistribution of TV revenues from 2016-17.
It will see parachute payments to clubs relegated from the top flight reduced from four seasons to three.
In its place a solidarity payment will be divided between the 72 clubs in the Football League.
