BICESTER kick-started the new year with a commanding 5-1 victory at home to Milton Keynes 2nd.
Faye Bennett, Nicolene Willers, Kerri Lancaster, Beatrice Gunn and Lisa Elliott were on target in the Trysports Three-Counties League Division 1 clash.
Both sides started well, but it was Bicester who broke the deadlock after two minutes thanks to Bennett’s well-struck shot.
The visitors pressed forward, but the home side’s defence held firm.
Bicester soon doubled their lead, when top-scorer Willers swept home.
The hosts started to take control and Lancaster netted her first goal of the season when reacting first to a loose ball.
Gunn then scored Bicester’s fourth before half-time with a pinpoint shot into the corner.
Milton Keynes improved after the break and reduced the deficit.
But Bicester were still moving the ball well and Elliott rounded the keeper to complete the scoring.
