JONNY Reid scored twice to help Bicester to a comprehensive 4-0 win at West Hampstead 3rd.
Ben Kirk and man-of-thematch Rob Blackie were also on target to help Bicester climb to third in Middlesex, Berks, Bucks & Oxon Division 1.
The visitors’ bright start was rewarded when Kirk opened the scoring with a well-placed finish following smart work from debutant Blackie and young forward Will Hartley.
Reid doubled the lead with a mis-hit reverse-stick shot, which managed to sneak through the goalkeeper.
Bicester goalkeeper Peter Bowen was called upon several times to protect the 2-0 lead before half-time.
Reid virtually guaranteed the points early in the second half, when he deflected in a shot from Kirk.
Blackie completed the scoring to seal a fourth win in five.
Bicester will be looking to extend their strong run when bottom side OMT visit the Cooper School on Saturday.
Bicester 4th went down 7-0 away to Abingdon 4th.
Steve McKenna came closest to getting on the scoresheet for the visitors, with diving effort which went just wide.
The club’s mixed team held a charity match at Sonning.
They lost the match 5-0, but the event raised £450 for Hockey for Heroes, a group which provides rehabilitation for military veterans through participation in hockey.
