Bicester fighter Daza Usher was crowned the British Masters Welterweight champion after beating previously undefeated Vinzenz Keuch on points at the Civic Hall in Grays, Essex.
In a competitive contest, Usher's speed and slickness were edging the rounds in his favour.
In the latter stages of the eight-round clash, Keuch was tiring, though always looked dangerous.
The Essex fighter was very strong and was looking to land big punches, but Usher kept him at bay with some sharp combinations and crisp jabs.
About two minutes into the final round, Usher landed a looping right cross that put Keuch on the canvas.
Although Keuch got back to his feet during the referee's mandatory standing eight-second count, his corner threw the towel in before Usher was presented with his championship belt.
Usher was delighted with his win.
"It is the pinnacle of my career so far," he said.
"I have been involved in combat sports for the past 25 years and that has allowed me to travel and train all across the world, winning many trophies and titles along the way.
"But to win a professional boxing title has to be the highlight.
"I always keep myself in good shape and I'm always ready to box. when asked to.
"I will now let my aches and pains heal and look to improve and progress on my victory."
