Bicester Blue Fins kept up their promotion bid with third place in the second round of the Chiltern League at Bletchley.

The result puts them second in Division 2 and within just two points of leaders Wycombe with all to swim for in the final gala on April 18.

Ryan Cattle, 14, led the way, storming to victory in the men's open 100m freestyle before finishing runner-up in the 50m butterfly.

Thirteen-year-old Joshua Hiles triumphed in the 14 & under 50m breaststroke, while 12-year-old Melissa White won the 14 & under 50m backstroke.

White combined with Tansy Hammond, Sophie Phillips and Chiara Brown to win the girls 14 & under 4x25m medley relay.

Charlotte Inness, 15, touched home first in the ladies open 100m breaststroke, while Matthew Harris, 13, won the 14 & under freestyle and his 16-year-old sister, Jodie, took the ladies' open 100m individual medley title.

The squad also picked up a number of speeding tickets.
