Bicester's Amy Gould was celebrating after she won the under 13 girls event in the fourth round of the Oxford Mail Cross Country League at Cirencester Park on Sunday.
She completed the 2000m course in a time of 9mins 11secs.
It saw her close within two points of Oxford’s Alexandra Scrivener at the top of the rankings with one round to go, on Sunday, March 2, at Harwell.
Holly Griffiths Brown finished seventh in 10.00. Millie Couzens was second in the under 11 girls’ race run over 1200 metres in 4mins 25secs, to go third in the rankings.
Freddie Taylor led out a strong under 11 boy’s contingent to finish third, clocking a time of 4mins 20secs for the 1200 metre course.
Tom Couzens celebrated his recent call up for the county by finishing fifth in the under 13 boys’ race, completing the 2000m course in 8mins 47secs.
Alchester vet 35 Sarah Rendell finished eighth in the ladies’ race in 26.36, while clubmate and vet 35 Sam Usher was 19th in 28.33.
Michelle Pank crossed the line in 28.51.
Andy Stickley was the first Alchester runner home in the men’s race.
He crossed the line in 37.07, with teammate Richard Gould 29th in 37.19.
Alchester’s James Pither crossed the line 44th in 38.04.
