Alchester's Ian Hunter led the way for local athletes at the Virgin Money London Marathon.
The vet 40 athlete hit a personal best of 2hrs 51mins 36secs for the 26.2 mile course.
Meanwhile, Bicester’s David Kuester won seven medals and set two UK records at a world throwing championships.
Kuester’s haul came in the vet 70 category of the WTC World 56lb Championships at Moorways Stadium, Derby.
His age group records, which are subject to ratification, came in the hammer (9.21m) and ‘sling’ hammer for distance (6.47).
