MICHAEL Collins scored a late consolation as Oxford United's development team lost 4-1 at Bournemouth.
The midfielder, who has been told he is free to find another club, ran on to Canice Carroll's flick-on and finished after the U's had gone 4-0 down.
The game was arranged to give game time to players who have not featured for the first team this season.
United's starting XI all got 90 minutes under their belts, including striker James Roberts and midfielder Josh Ashby.
Chris Allen, United's assistant head coach, said: "There is another game next week where we will try and give them 90 again, and then the same the week after.
"That's more to do with fitness but today we also learned a few lessons about playing against sides like Bournemouth, who are a talented side on the ball and took their chances really well."
United: Crocombe, Welch-Hayes, Cundy, Carroll, Grant, Hawtin, Ashby, Collins, Humphreys, George, Roberts.
