BEN West won the Chiltern Cross Country League’s under 17 boys Division 2 title with a round to spare.

The Bicester runner was the first finisher from his division by more than three minutes in the fourth race at Keysoe Equestrian Centre.

He was only denied the overall victory by Jack Meijer, of Milton Keynes, crossing second in 20mins 32secs.

In the under 15 event, Max Nicolle moved up the rankings after coming 12th – the second Division 2 runner home.

He is still in with a chance of a top-three finish heading into the final round.

Simon Worfolk was Bicester’s other finisher in the category, coming 59th.

Under 20 athlete Tom Gould took part in a very competitive senior men’s race and finished 171st.

Millie Couzens tops the under 13 girls Division 2 standings.

She finished second overall in 14mins 14secs and first in the division.

It turned out to be Bicester’s strongest team race, with Amelia Cox 31st and Amy Willis 53rd.

In the under 11 age group, Imogen Cox put in a good performance to finish 17th, with teammate Alanna O’Neill coming home 53rd.

Amy Gould just missed out on a top-half finish as she came 37th in the under 15 event.
