Ardley United endured a miserable Bank Holiday weekend as they lost twice with an aggregate score of 9-0 against in Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division.

Kevin Brock's side went down 3-0 at Brackley Town Saints on Monday, 48 hours after finishing with nine men in a 6-0 thrashing by high-flying Flackwell Heath.

Despite Saturday's heavy defeat, Ardley went into the game at Brackley above their hosts in the table.

There was little to choose between the sides early on, but Saints gradually gained the upper hand and opened the scoring six minutes before the break through Logan Kelling's powerful strike.

Ardley’s closest effort came just before the break, when Chris Jackson’s shot following a corner was blocked.

Brackley made it 2-0 seconds into the second half, Kelling lobbing in from 20 yards.

Henry Jackson wrapped up the win with a controversial third goal, running through despite appearing to be in an offside position.

It came hot on the heels of a mauling by Flackwell on Saturday.

The visitors were quickly into their stride and came close several times before Dan Burnell opened the scoring on the half-hour mark.

Joe Blount doubled the lead two minutes later.

Ardley had the first chance of the second half in the opening minute, but good defending just prevented Steve Howkins getting on the end of Adam Beckett’s cross.

Poor defending gifted Flackwell their third goal on 54 minutes as Burnell slammed in and he went on to complete his hat-trick.

Ardley's plight worsened when Jackson was forced off injured after all three substitutions had been made, before Steve Howkins was shown a straight red card for reacting badly to a tackle.

The resulting penalty was despatched by Chris Hurst, who made it 6-0 with the last kick of the game.

Ardley visit Fairford Town in the FA Vase first qualifying round on Saturday.
