JOSH McEachran will miss the first three months of the season after breaking three bones in his foot.

The 22-year-old midfielder, from Kirtlington, who signed for Sky Bet Championship side Brentford from Chelsea earlier this month, collided with Toumani Diagouraga in training.

It means he will miss out on the chance to face Oxford United, who visit Griffin Park next month in the Capital One Cup first round.

McEachran had spent 15 years at Barclays Premier League champions Chelsea, but decided to leave Stamford Bridge despite having 12 months left on his contract.

The former England Under 21 international made his Blues debut five years ago and has since been on loan at Middlesbrough, Swansea and Vitesse Arnhem.
