Highfield’s players show their delight after their Ian Willoughby Cup triumph against Ashton Villa

First published in Sport

Murray Nicholls hit the winner as Highfield Social Club lifted the Ian Willoughby Cup with a 3-2 victory over Ashton Villa at Bicester Town.

The final saw two Bicester teams in opposition for the first time, and it was Highfield who opened the scoring through Wes Bone.

Dan Richardson equalised for Ashton with a great solo effort, and Gary Wickens put them ahead with a superb free-kick.

But Highfield were back on level terms just before half- time, with Ben Foster on target.

Nicholls struck the winner from a tight angle midway through the second half.
