WET weather in Wales has cast doubt over Oxford United’s visit to Newport County on New Year's Day.
Newport RFC’s match on Saturday was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, as it was for County’s fixture against AFC Wimbledon on December 21.
Pictures posted on Twitter by Rodney Parade’s head of operations, Mark Jones, showed patches of standing water remained this morning.
With further rain forecast almost non-stop for tomorrow and up to kick-off on New Year's Day, the outlook does not look good.
County are doing everything in their power to help the conditions, according to chief executive Dave Boddy.
"It's too early to speculate but we are doing all we can," Boddy told the South Wales Argus.
"We are doing a lot of work on the pitch and we will move heaven and earth to get the game on."
