Strong winds of up to 70mph are set to batter the county later this week.
The Met Office has issued a Yellow weather warning for the area and said road and rail transport may be affected.
The gusts are set to begin this morning and continue into the early hours of Thursday.
The chief forecaster said: "Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely whilst outbreaks of rain, occasionally heavy, will add to the difficult travel conditions."
