The first episode of the BBC’s new series of Great British Menu achieved viewing figures of 1.44 million, according to the BBC.
The cookery show, which runs weekdays on BBC2 at 7.30pm, features Emily Watkins, chef and proprietor of the Kingham Plough, in Kingham, near Chipping Norton. She is one of 24 top chefs from across the country competing for the honour of cooking a wartime-themed banquet to honour veterans of D-Day. It started on Monday.
