The burglary took place at about 7.45pm in Derwent Road, Bicester, on Friday, October 12, when a burglar got in by forcing open the rear kitchen door.

While searching the lounge he woke up one of the occupants who had been asleep on the sofa, before running out of the kitchen door and jumping over the rear garden fence.

The burglar climbed over a garden wall and smashed the window of the kitchen door at the back of the house. A burglar alarm sounded and the offender fled from the scene.
