THE bodies of two Bicester-based soldiers killed in Afghanistan last week will be repatriated tomorrow.
Corporal Andrew Roberts, 32, and Private Ratu Silibaravi, 32, were killed in a mortar attack on their military base on Friday.
The soldiers were both from Bicester-based 23 Pioneer Regiment, The Royal Logistic Corps.
The plane carrying their bodies will land at RAF Brize Norton at about 1.30pm tomorrow and the cortege will pass the memorial garden on the edge of Carterton at about 3.30pm. The cortege is expected to arrive at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where post-mortem examinations are carried out, at about 4.30pm.
Yesterday, the Royal British Legion appealed for Oxfordshire people to pay tribute to the two men at Carterton, Oxford or along the route between the town and city.
Oxfordshire vice president Mike Henderson said: “I would like to see as many people as possible come out and support this repatriation because they were local lads.”
Any updates to the timings for the repatriation will be posted on oxfordmail.co.uk when available.
