A Bicester school has received a four-figure funding boost from the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) to help in supporting a local community project.
The Cooper School welcomed Matthew Barber, PCC for Thames Valley, today (Wednesday, February 28), who visited to learn more about the school’s alternative provision for its students.
This provision includes involvement with GET FED – a community project for vulnerable students, led by founder Tim Parkhouse.

Mr Barber presented Mr Parkhouse with a cheque for £1,000 from the Thames Valley community fund to support the venture and received a lesson on how to make a good coffee from a Year 10 student.
Chris Lloyd, alternative provision lead for The Cooper School, said: “This programme has been brilliant in allowing students to learn new skills and have access to so many local hospitality businesses.
“I have been hugely impressed in the development of their confidence and pride in their work.”
