Banbury and Bicester College are set to hold an open event next month to showcase the range of programmes they have on offer.

An array of subject area presentations will be provided to attendees at the Broughton Road campus, affording potential students the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of what's on offer.

Visitors will have the chance to meet current students, giving them the opportunity to learn more about day-to-day life at the college.

The group director of Banbury and Bicester College will lead an introduction to college presentation, providing an overview of what newcomers can expect.

Programmes including GCSEs, business, accounting, travel and tourism, science, forensics, and access to higher education will be showcased, with an emphasis placed on their potential as fast-track routes into university.

A discussion with T Level employers will offer insights into T Level programmes and their related opportunities.

Furthermore, the open event, taking place on February 7 from 4.30 pm to 7.30 pm, coincides with National Apprenticeship Week, and visitors will get the opportunity to discover more about apprenticeship programmes and their benefits at a talk by activate apprenticeships.

Demos including beauty therapy, hairdressing, and media makeup will also be offered.

Attendees can explore more educational facilities like a realistic hospital setting at the care suite and workshops covering carpentry, engineering, and motor vehicle construction.

The staff at Activate Learning, who run the college, will be present to discuss learning pathways.

Careers advisors will offer expert, independent advice to help attendees decide their pathway.

Financial support such as bursaries can be discussed with the student services team.

Visitors will also have the chance to submit their application early, securing a place for the next academic year.

Student Harry Watts, studying a business level three extended diploma at Banbury and Bicester College said: "Attending the open event provided me with a good insight into what was available for me at Banbury and Bicester College.

"The environment at college suits my study needs, and my tutor has helped me further to specialise in what I want to do in the future, whilst giving me great course-related knowledge that will be useful in my career."
