A childminding service has been rated good following a visit from Ofsted inspectors.

Louise Gardner, based in Banbury, Oxfordshire was handed the rating following the inspection on December 5.

The service comprises childcare for five children, aged between one to nine, with a total of six places available.

Inspectors found that Ms Gardner "creates a very welcoming and homely environment", fostering a sense of safety and value for the children.

As a result, children are confident and initiate conversations with Ms Gardner and each other.

In addition, the children "benefit from a programme of learning that is carefully planned and suitably challenging".

Inspectors further noted the focus on developing children's speaking and listening skills.

They also highlighted the childcare provider’s strong teaching skills and her ability to engage with children making learning both "fun and meaningful for children".

The children, under the childminder's guidance, develop into "polite, confident and considerate young people".

Ms Gardner's dedication to the children and their families earned her high praise from parents and nursery staff alike, who appreciated her professionalism and "the ways in which she builds further on what children are learning at nursery".

Children in her care are reportedly safe, comfortable, and well-taught, learning and exploring in a supportive and stimulating environment.

The service offers care from 7.30am to 5:30pm, Monday to Thursday as well as funded education for children aged two, three, and four years.
