CUSTOMERS queued down the street to pick up some bargains as a new Pound Deals store opened in Didcot.
The mayor, councillor Des Healy, was on hand to open the shop in the Orchard Centre on April 16.
From household essentials to gardening gear, the store offers all items for £1 or less.
The company is owned by Poundstretcher, which hopes to employ six additional team members at Didcot.
Bhaskara Kunam, Pound Deals area manager, said: "We are delighted to have opened such a fantastic new store for the people of Didcot.
"It is hugely exciting to bring big brands at big discounts to shoppers here.
"What is equally exciting is our search for new team members from the Didcot area.
"We are extremely pleased to have kept the same team that are dedicated to putting customers first and I cannot wait to find more people to add to our brand."
