Air pollution in Oxfordshire remains high today from Sahara dust and Europe pollutants
8:51am Thursday 3rd April 2014 in News
PEOPLE in Oxfordshire are being warned of the continued high levels of air pollution today.
It is expected to remain at levels of about seven or eight out of ten - ten being the highest - today, but the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs believes levels will return to normal again tomorrow.
People with pre-exisiting medical conditions, particularly respiratory complaints, are being advised to be aware of the poorer air quality, although Oxfordshire is not forecast to be as bad as other areas of the country
The high levels are thought to have been caused by easterly winds bringing in pollutants from Europe, local air pollution and dust from the Sahara Desert.
