COMEDY continues at the Oxford Playhouse this month, as Josh Widdicombe takes the stage for a two-night run.

Radio presenter and stand-up comedian Josh, also a regular on television shows including Mock of the Week, QI and Have I Got News for You, returns to the city with his new stand-up show, What Do I Do Now?

He did his first gig at Earls Court, in the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year competition in 2008, then spent the next few years on the open-mic circuit.

By 2011, he had won the Leicester Mercury New Comedian of the Year and FHM Stand Up Hero competitions and appeared at the Edinburgh Festival.

Now Josh presents Saturday morning sports show Fighting Talk on BBC Radio 5 Live and his own show on Radio X.

Tickets for his Oxford shows, on Thursday, January 21, and Friday, January 22, at 7.30pm, cost £17.50.

On Saturday, January 23, Showstopper! The Improvised Musical takes to the stage. A new musical comedy is created from scratch at each performance, in response to audience suggestions.

The show – a blend of comedy, dance, musical theatre and spontaneity – started life as a workshop at the Actors’ Centre in London, a group of actors with little or no improvisation experience attempted to get to perform an hour-long extemporised musical in front of a packed house.

Tickets are £16. For Playhouse bookings, call on 01865 305305 or see oxfordplayhouse.com
