Sir – My wife and I, with our growing family, were part of the Bicester community from 1969 to 1997.
We lived, worked and played in a town that nurtured and inspired us for almost 30 years. It was a very happy time.
From our retirement home in Northampton, the media reports of the rebranding of Bicester Town Station as Bicester Village fill me with great sadness.
The overriding impact of “Commerce over Community” or “Pounds over People” seems to have denied the 30,000 residents of the town any truly effective voice in the debate over their own rebuilt town station.
