Sir – I am writing to thank all your readers who came along and supported BCOS’ recent stage show Iolanthe at The Cooper School during half-term.

We had previously decided to move the show from our traditional autumn slot and were rewarded with audiences clearly up for having a good time.

Many members of the society have had fabulous feedback from everyone who came along saying how much they loved the fabulous set design, singing and they found it really funny as well as how up to date it all seemed. Even though the show was written more than 130 years ago, it seems some things in politics never change.

We would like to thank the school, Cherwell District Council and all our continued supporters and advertisers for making it such a successful show and we are already looking forward to our next show Carmen – The Musical next year.

The society has now started rehearsals for the next choral piece, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle. It is not too late to join in and we welcome any newcomers or people who have sung with us before.

Rehearsals are at St Mary’s School (next to the leisure centre) on Wednesdays from 7.30pm.
