Bicester & North Oxford's desperate start to the Division 1 season continued when they crashed to a seven-wicket home defeat to title-chasing Dinton.

Once again only captain Darryl Woods (55) of the Bicester batsmen showed any resolve as his side slumped to 143 all out. Mark Ludlow took 4-11 with his deceptively whippy action.

The result was never in doubt once Michael Sutliff (53) and Adam Mould (34) had set the visitors on their way, as only Paul Jeacock (3-11) had any success with the ball.

Andrew Hemming, of Shipton-under-Wychwood, and Banbury Twenty's Ashley Pearson both struck centuries in their sides' clash, which ended in a high-scoring draw.

Hemming's 102 came in Shipton's 285-6 declared, an innings that also featured 41 from Tim Senior and 45 by Steve Bates.

Twenty, who had chosen to field, now had an extra five overs to chase down the total, but even with Pearson's 121 they were never really in with a chance and settled for a draw on 237-8.

Cumnor maintained the pressure on the top two with an easy win at Oxford 2nd.

Medium pacer Carl Thompson (4-46) took two wickets in the second over of the match to seize the initiative, which the visitors held throughout despite Jamie Perkins' 58.

Oxford's 133 all out was never going to be enough, as opener James Neilson (69no) steered his side from the shaky score of 45-3 to victory without further loss.

A solid 86 by Robbie Eason and a more explosive 55 from Mohsin Rana saw Horspath post 207-7 after they were put in to bat by Oxford Downs.

Lester Smart took 3-48 for Downs, who would have expected to reach what was a modest target on a fast-scoring ground.

But Lee Mason (3-31) had other ideas, and only Tom Norris (53) could get going after tea as Downs were left clinging on for a draw on 143-9.

Vishal Valambhia took 6-20 as leaders Buckingham Town stayed unbeaten by thrashing Bletchley Town.

Put in to bat the visitors could manage only 110, with Graham Simpson (35) providing the top score.

The loss of a couple of early wickets made no difference as Leigh Tomlinson (53no) and Brook Hatwell (34no) then finished the job.
