Dinton were crowned Division 1 champions for the first time as the season reached a dramatic climax on Saturday.

The Buckinghamshire side beat Banbury Twenty by one wicket to pip Buckingham Town for the title and condemn Twenty to the drop.

Dinton and Buckingham finished with the same number of points, wins and bonus points, so were separated by head-to-head record. Both matches ended in draws, with Dinton earning 31 to Buckingham's 24.

At the weekend, Dinton restricted Twenty to 197-9, thanks in the main to Tim Brooker’s 4-27 from ten overs.

Keith Arnold (4-56) then made the visitors fight for every run, but Mike Sutliff (78), Lee Marland (30) and finally Adam Mould (32no) saw them to 200-9. The home side lost one point for a slow over rate.

Banbury Twenty 12pts, Dinton 25

The result at Banbury made Buckingham Town’s win at home to Bicester & North Oxford academic – as it also meant Bicester were saved from relegation.

Bicester made slow progress to 159-8, with Darryl Woods (66) and Henry Mills (47) scoring the bulk of the runs while Vishal Valambhia took 4-52.

Jonny Cater (91) then steered Town to 161-7.

Horspath thrashed Cumnor to secure their highest ever league placing.

Robbie Eason hit an outstanding 122 not out and Alister Gibbins 60 as Horspath amassed 275-3 dec.

Eason's younger brother Will then grabbed 6-32 as Cumnor crashed to 135 all out, with only Sam Jones (65) getting going.

Ian Evans (81) and Richard Beer (43no) saw Oxford 2nd to 224-9 at home to Oxford Downs. Tim Hardy took 4-57.

Wes Bartlett (51), Frankie Crouch (47) and Noel Pearson (34) gave the visitors hope, but Philip Evans (3-49) helped bowl them out for 191.

Jason Hunt took 6-58 for Shipton-under-Wychwood, but his efforts were in vain as Bletchley Town pulled off a 58-run victory.

Graham Simpson hit 47 and Mark Roberts 44 in Town's 187-7, which proved plenty as Ghufran Mohammed took 5-18 and the home side slipped to 129 all out. Craig Lambert's 50 was the only bright spot for Shipton.
