JOSH McEachran missed Oxford United’s trip to Fleetwood Town with a ‘slight twinge’, head coach Liam Manning has revealed.
Chelsea academy graduate McEachran was a notable absentee from the travelling matchday squad in Lancashire, although the U’s still coasted to a 3-0 victory without him.
Asked after the game about McEachran’s non-inclusion in the squad, Manning responded: “Josh had a slight twinge in training on Tuesday, nothing that we’re worried about, but I was a little apprehensive about starting him.
“Common sense says not to stick him on the bench and make him travel when he’s sore anyway.
“He probably could’ve been on the bench but for me, let it settle and put him on a slightly different plan to everybody else, and make sure he’s in a good spot. Josh will be fine.”
