THREE more of Oxford City’s promotion heroes have put pen to paper in committing to the club for its debut Vanarama National League campaign.

Canice Carroll, Zac McEachran and Josh Parker all started the 4-0 thumping of St Albans City in the National League South play-off final last month, with the latter two netting a goal apiece.

The Oxford Mail understands that the Hoops have fended off interest from Football League sides to keep hold of McEachran, who also grabbed two assists in the play-off final.

The 27-year-old midfielder scored 11 times for City last season as they charged towards promotion, while he also surpassed the 250-appearance mark for the club.

A key player in the Hoops side, he was named both the supporters’ and players’ player of the season at the club’s end of season awards, and also won a place in the National League South team of the season.

After signing a new deal with City, he told the club website: “I’m delighted to be staying. Last season was special and the vibe in the dressing room was one of the best I’ve experienced.

“For me, it was a good season individually too, but now I’m looking forward to next season.

“It’ll be tough but we know what we’re capable of and we know our standards. We believe in ourselves and we’re going to give it a really good go.”

Carroll and Parker also played instrumental roles, at opposite ends of the pitch, for the Hoops during the 2022/23 campaign.

Oxford United youth product Carroll made 25 appearances for the U’s, before joining Brentford for an undisclosed fee on transfer deadline day in August 2018, but did not make an appearance for the then Sky Bet Championship side.

Carroll then joined Queen’s Park, helping them lift the Scottish League Two title, prior to making the move to City.

Initially deployed in midfield, the 24-year-old has since become a key cog in the Hoops defence and made 52 appearances this season.

The former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international was named in Vanarama’s National League South team of the season.

Parker meanwhile arrived at Court Place Farm in September following a spell out of the game.

However, the striker hit the ground running and found the net 22 times during his debut campaign with City, including bagging the fourth goal in the play-off final win against St Albans.

The 32-year-old elegantly chopped inside Luton Town loanee Aidan Francis-Clarke and finished with aplomb to stroke the ball past Dylan Berry in first half stoppage time.

Parker, an Antigua and Barbuda international, won the National League South player of the month award for January after bagging himself five goals in as many games.

Carroll, McEachran and Parker join Josh Ashby, Andre Burley, Lewis Coyle, Reece Fleet, Tom Harrison, Latrell Humphrey-Ewers, Lewis Miccio, Alfie Potter and Aaron Williams-Bushell in committing their futures to the Hoops.

Defender Charlie Rowan and striker Joe Iaciofano will be leaving the club, it was announced last month.
