LIAM Manning says he is under no pressure to sell any of his Oxford United stars in the summer transfer window.

In recent years, United have developed a reputation for bringing in relatively unknown players and then selling them on for a healthy profit.

Over the past three summers, centre backs Rob Dickie, Rob Atkinson and Luke McNally were sold to Sky Bet Championship sides in consecutive years for a seven-figure fee.

Meanwhile, during the 2019/20 season, Shandon Baptiste and Tariqe Fosu were sold to Brentford for a combined fee of a reported £3 million, after Gavin Whyte joined Cardiff City for a fee in the region of £2m.

Asked whether the U’s would have to continue with their selling model this summer, Manning was relaxed on outgoings.

He told BBC Radio Oxford’s The Dub podcast: “I’ve had zero pressure from the chairman or the board in terms of selling people, there’s no pressure for us to do that whatsoever.

“In terms of interest, it’s still early but nothing as of yet that I’ve been informed of.

“There’ll be lots of noise I’m sure around it as there is always is and lots of people trying to generate interest but as it stands at the moment, there’s been no interest and we’re under no pressure to do anything.”
