MARK Revill was in superb form as he clanged off 14 dolls (5-4-5) for The Swan A at The Gladiators A, but it didn’t stop them from falling to a 2-1 defeat.

The Glad’s won the opening leg 20-18 with The Swan levelling 25-22. Gladiators set and won the final leg 27-23.

The George A started off well at Premier leaders The Black Prince when they won the first leg 24-19, however that was to be their only success as Prince hit back in the next two legs 25-21, 26-20. Red Lion A Kidlington defeated Garsington Sports Club 2-1, who are still rooted at the foot of the table and seeking their first win of the season. Lion won the first two legs 20-14, 20-18 before Garsington grabbed a point in the final leg 22-21.

Section One pacesetters Red Lion B Cassington defeated North Leigh FC 2-1 in a game where only one player hit double figures. Lion won the first two legs 21-18, 24-14, while North Leigh won the final leg on three sticks after a 22-22 tie.

In Section Two, leaders Chequers B remain unbeaten after a 3-0 demolition of Seacourt Bridge, still yet to taste victory this season. Red Lion B Kidlington moved level with Chequers at the top when they came away from The Masons A with a maximum 3-0 win. Donnington Club A’s good start to the season continues to fall apart. After winning their opening two games, they have now lost the last three on the bounce, this time at home to Chequers A. With the game poised at 1-1, Chequers set and won the deciding leg 13-12.

In Section Three, Donnington Club D’s 100 per cent start to the season continues after coming from behind to beat The Tandem 2-1. A set of only 11 by Donnington was never going to be enough as Tandem raced past with 18. Donnington set and won the second leg 17-12 and then completed the turnaround in the final leg 17-13. Yarnton British Legion scored more dolls than Donnington Club B (38-36) but still managed to lose 2-1. Yarnton won the first leg 14-9 but lost the next by the odd doll 14-13. Donnington set and won the last leg 13-11. Leaders Kidlington FC B had an explosive start away at Bletchington Sports Club, winning the first leg 22-15. Chasing a set of 13 in the second leg, Kidlington scrapped by with 14. Bletchington won the final leg 16-14 for a deserved point.
