FORMER Oxford United boss Karl Robinson has suffered relegation from the Premier League with Leeds United.

The 42-year-old ex-U’s head coach joined the Elland Road outfit on May 3, as assistant manager to former England, Bolton Wanderers and West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce.

The duo took over with Leeds 17th in the top flight and above the relegation zone on goal difference.

They oversaw defeats away at Manchester City and West Ham, with a home draw against Newcastle United sandwiched in the middle, before relegation was confirmed this afternoon after a 4-1 defeat at home to Tottenham Hotspur.

Harry Kane gave Spurs the lead after two minutes, before Sporting Lisbon loanee Pedro Porro doubled the advantage two minutes into the second period.

Jack Harrison gave Leeds hope midway through the second half, however Kane quickly restored Spurs’ two-goal advantage, before Lucas Moura scored deep in stoppage time.

Leeds began the day 19th in the table, needing a win to leapfrog both Everton and Leicester City.

Abdoulaye Doucoure scored the only goal of the game as the Toffees overcame AFC Bournemouth and retained their Premier League status.

Leicester were relegated despite a 2-1 win at home to West Ham.

Robinson was sacked by the U’s in February after a run of seven defeats in eight games left them 17th in Sky Bet League One.
