SCOTT Nicholls and Chris Harris rolled back the years as Oxford Cheetahs edged out Redcar Bears on a dramatic night of racing.
The old sparring partners picked up seven heat wins combined as they inspired the hosts to a 47-43 win.
Harris replaced Troy Batchelor at Sandy Lane after the Australian sustained a back injury during the 55-35 defeat at Plymouth Gladiators 24 hours earlier.
And the three-time British champion collected 11 points, before crashing out of a dramatic heat 15 that Nicholls won to secure victory.
The captain top-scored with 13, while Jack Thomas (eight) and Dillon Ruml (4+3) picked up vital points.
Kyle Newman and Cameron Heeps each picked up a paid five, while guest reserve Nathan Stoneman added another three.
Jason Crump’s men climb to seventh in the SGB Championship ahead of tomorrow night's meeting at Scunthorpe Scorpions.
