Horspath will open their first season in The Oxford Times Cherwell League with a home game against Banbury Twenty on Saturday, May 10.

The village club have enjoyed a meteoric rise since reforming in 2004, winning four straight titles culminating in the Division 2 crown last season.

And now they will play host to Twenty, who include the likes of Oxfordshire seamer Keith Arnold, in their first crack at the top flight.

In the second weekend of matches, Horspath visit old rivals Oxford 2nd, who were promoted as Division 2 runners-up last term.

Oxford 2nd open up with a trip to Oxford Downs, while Aston Rowant, relegated from the Sommers Home Counties Premier League last season, travel to Shipton- under-Wychwood.

In the two other opening Division 1 games, Banbury 2nd entertain Bicester & North Oxford, while Great & Little Tew are at home to Cumnor.

Twyford, last season's Oxfordshire Cricket Association champions, have been placed in Division 4 and will open up with a trip to Banbury Twenty 2nd.

Their first home game is against Buckingham 2nd.

Great Brickhill, winner of the Four Counties League, have been placed in Division 5, and will start off by visiting Bicester & North Oxford 2nd.

The Milton Keynes-based newcomers' first home game is against Abingdon Vale 2nd.

Division 8 has been split into two sections A and B - making 11 divisions - one more than last season.
