EDDIE Pepperell gave himself momentum going into the weekend at the Canary Islands Championship.
Birdies on the 13th and 14th helped the Abingdon golfer card a two-under par 69 in Tenerife, taking him to seven-under for the tournament.
The Frilford Heath member was in a strong position after his opening round and picked up a shot at the first.
A bogey at the next hole was cancelled out by another birdie at the third, before he settled into his round.
Pepperell dropped a shot at the eighth, but moved to two-under for the day with his pair of birdies on the back nine.
It continued his encouraging form at Golf Costa Adeje, where he tied for 33rd at last week’s Tenerife Open.
