DIDCOT Town and Thame United meet in the first Oxfordshire Southern League derby of the season tomorrow.

Both sides got off to winning starts in Division 1 Central last weekend, the Railwaymen finishing 4-1 up at home to Kempston Rovers while Thame beat visitors Bedford Town 3-0.

With only three other matches in the division this weekend, it would give the victors at Loop Meadow a chance to stake a claim as one of the early front-runners.

Wantage Town were also among the opening-day success stories.

Their 2-0 win over Welwyn Garden City was an excellent start – and they can surpass their total league triumphs for the whole of last season if they can repeat the feat at home to Bedworth United.

Banbury United drew their opener at Royston Town, but Andy Whing’s side did come through their Emirates FA Cup tie against Carlton Town in midweek.

They are at home again tomorrow, against Redditch United.

Elsewhere, Oxford City complete their pre-season at home to Brackley Town.
