KIMBERLEY Pickett clocked up almost 220 miles when competing in the National 12-hour Time Trial Championship.

It smashed the Bicester Millennium member’s goal of 180 miles in her debut for the event and saw her come eighth in the women’s race.

Held on roads between Wrexham, Whitchurch and Shrewsbury, gusty winds added to the challenge and just 53 of the 90 starters completed the 12 hours.

Among those not to see the finish was former Bicester member Michell Lee.

Club members provided a support team for Pickett, who took part in the 100-mile time trial championship earlier this month.

She finished in 4hrs 54mins 59secs at an average speed of 20.34 mph.

Bicester Millennium also took eight new riders on a taster ride last weekend, clocking up 32 miles.
