AFTER a near-washout first weekend of the season, there were runs aplenty as batsmen made the most of the perfect summer conditions.

Witney Swifts racked up a massive 311-7 in their Airey Cup Group 1 encounter at Hanborough, setting up a 199-run victory.

George Seacole top-scored with 80, while there were also half-centuries for Kieran Foggett (59no), Ashley Horne (59) and Charlie Fisher (53).

Chasing such a huge target, Hanborough never got close as they fell to 112 all out, Seacole and George Townsend both claiming 3-37.

Tetsworth ran out four-wicket winners at East & West Hendred.

Batting first, Hendred set 203-7 in their 40 overs as Dave Prosper struck 71.

Laxmikant Narane then scored 66 in Tetsworth’s reply as they eased to 207-6.

Wolvercote were too strong for hosts Faringdon as they cruised to an eight-wicket success.

Nick Pinhol (4-10) shone as Faringdon were rolled over for 142.

Sam Adams (63no) and Darren Jones (51no) led the way as Wolvercote reached 143-2.

There was a comfortable

nine-wicket win for Stonesfield at home to Clifton Hampden.

Richard Beard hit 72 not out, but could only lead Clifton to a below-par 139-6 in their 40 overs.

In reply, Adrian Birkett (57no) and George Redknap (56) saw Stonesfield to 142-1.

There were runs galore in Group 2, with Westcott posting 253-8 to set up a 129-run win over visitors Stanton Harcourt.

Waqas Ur-Rehman hit 72 not out, before taking 3-13 as Stanton were all out for 124.

Middleton Cheney’s Greg Pearson hit an unbeaten century in his side’s 42-run win over Marsh Gibbon.

Cheney set 245-4, Ryan Markham also scoring 58.

In reply, Joe Leonard batted superbly with 116, but his side finished short on 203-6.

Robbie Nicholson also smashed a century to help Combe to a six-wicket win at Cairns Fudge.

Nicholson’s 103 not out led Combe to 179-4 in response to Fudge’s 178-9, Julian Chaundy taking 5-25.

Chipping Norton won a tight clash with local rivals Hook Norton by 16 runs.

Charith Karawita top-scored with 94 in Chippy’s 207 all out and then Andrew Tompkins took 4-36 as Hooky fell for 191.

Tom Partridge’s 59 not out help Oxenford to a 91-run win at Wootton & Boars Hill.

Oxenford set 186-6, Divya Puri also scoring 40. In reply, Wootton fell to 95 all out.

Witney Swifts 2nd top Group 1 in the Telegraph Cup after they made it two wins out of two with a five-wicket triumph against Wolvercote 2nd.

Philip Blakeman took 4-28 as Wolvercote were all out for 147, before Edd Priest (42) led Swifts to 150-5.

Broughton & North Newington saw off hosts Brill by 22 runs.

Jason Tilcock (57) and Andrew Parsons (56no) led Broughton to 192-4 and then Phil Russell took 4-23 as Brill fell for 170.

Freeland’s Tom Lay hit a half-century in his side’s 42-run win over Deddington.

Lay’s 51 saw hosts Freeland to 164 all out, before Ade Marks (4-25) and Simon Brown (3-9) combined to dismiss Deddington for 122.

Risinghurst saw off visitors Kidlington by five wickets.

Edd Willmot top-scored with 69 not out in Kidlington’s 166-7, Ali Malik taking 4-20.

Abdur Rasheed Khan (61) and Saurabh Mehrotra (57no) shone with the bat to lead Risinghurst home at 167-5.

In Group 2, Wantage went top after a three-wicket win over visitors Oxenford 2nd.

Will Harvey’s 4-30 helped to restrict Oxenford to 144-9, Leigh Bastable hitting 69.

A mini-collapse early in Wantage’s reply gave the away side hope, but Liam Turnbull (55) steadied the ship, and he shared a seventh-wicket stand of 62 with Andy Binnington (38no) to steer his side home.

Aiden Pugh (3-2) and Thom Airs (3-9) helped Dorchester to a nine-wicket win over Sunningwell.

The visitors were shot out for just 90 and Dorchester needed just 20 overs to reach the victory target.

Marcham beat hosts Steventon by four wickets.

Harry Phipps (3-17) helped dismiss Steventon for 136, before Kalan Niyarepola top-scored with 39 to lead Marcham to 140-6.

Tetsworth 2nd defeated West Ilsley by 31 runs.

Clifford Jacobs (45) helped Tetsworth set 202-9 in their 40 overs, Michael Channon taking 4-38.

A fine knock of 81 from Ross Wise kept Ilsley in the hunt, but they closed on 171-8 as Sunil Gil and Aaron Huish took three wickets apiece.

New boys Golden Sparrows hammered Kidlington 3rd by 179 runs in the Osberton Radiators Cup.

Praveen Mutchumari smashed 141 not out as Sparrows racked up 300-7, Elender Pittala also adding 94.

Kidlington fell to 121 all out in their reply as Ramakrishna Kurapati took 3-9.

Mark Hatton hit an unbeaten century in Stonesfield 2nd’s thrilling six-run win at Harwell International.

Hatton’s 102 not out saw Stonesfield to 173-7.

Harwell needed eight from the last over, but they were bowled out for 167 as Dave Skidmore took 3-42.

Rik Yapp took 5-28 as Chipping Norton 2nd beat Fringford by four wickets, while Sanjay Kumar (5-25) also starred as Sunningwell 2nd won by four wickets against Dorchester 2nd.

In the Steve Dixon Cup, East & West Hendred 2nd made it two wins from two as they saw off hosts Hook Norton 2nd by seven wickets.

Ivan Mulford scored 50 in Hendred’s 159-3 as they successfully chased down Hook Norton’s

155-8.

Letcombe ran out eight-wicket winners at home to Steventon 2nd.

David Webb (65) was the mainstay in Steventon’s 127 all out, Jerry May taking 4-16.

Alex Simms (50) and David Buckle (35no) led the way as Letcombe eased to 128-2.

Leon Nurse hit 34 and took three wickets to help Uffington to a 16-run win over Risinghurst 2nd.

Uffington were all out for 138 as Justin Sammuller took 3-23.

But Satyan Sabrumani (3-27) and Nurse (3-32) combined to dismiss Risinghurst for 122.

Luke Murgatroyd (3-12) and Harry Turner (3-15) helped Wolvercote 3rd to a seven-wicket win over visitors Kidlington 2nd.
