JAMES Pagano triumphed in difficult gusty weather at the fourth round of Yarnton’s Summer League.

The south-westerly gusts downstream on the River Thames at Cassington were a challenge.

A handful of bream appeared in among the roach, which were not as obliging to feed as expected.

At the weigh-in Pagano, who had drawn the end peg ten, fished the pole at nine metres with maggot over groundbait.

It saw him catch a mixed bag of roach, chublets and skimmers, along with a nice Bream for 11lb 14oz.

Harry Oliver was second at the opposite end in the old field and caught a decent bream on the feeder and 30 roach on the pole with hemp and tares to weigh 10lb 15oz.

Completing the podium was Ernie Smith, who drew peg nine and caught a mixed bag on the pole for 7lb 2oz.

Default section winners on the day were Jason Jones and Jamie Godfrey.
