MATTY Taylor has given Oxford United’s summer a shot in the arm by signing a three-year deal.
The striker’s 17 goals on loan from Bristol City helped fire Karl Robinson’s side into the Sky Bet League One play-offs last season.
And after his release from Ashton Gate, the U’s have managed to bring the 30-year-old back on a permanent basis.
He said: “I'd said to the gaffer all along I wanted to stay for longer than last season.

“I'm just thankful we could get it over the line. I'm just buzzing to be here permanently now.”
It marks a permanent homecoming for the goalscorer from Kidlington, who started out at United but was twice released without making a senior start.

His haul last season – which came in a campaign cut short by coronavirus – has only been surpassed by Kemar Roofe since the U’s came back into the Football League in 2010.
