BANBURY United have signed highly-rated striker Henry Landers.

The 20-year-old enjoyed two prolific spells with North Leigh, either side of a short period at Maidenhead United in the Vanarama National League.

It means Landers will be testing himself in BetVictor Southern League Premier Central next season and Puritans manager Andy Whing is looking forward to seeing him make the step up.

He said: “We’re delighted to sign Henry, he’s a really talented footballer who got a move to the National League last season.

“His goal and assist record in the last couple of seasons has been fantastic and we hope he can carry that forward for us.

“On top of that, he’s a really nice lad who will fit into the squad perfectly.”

The forward impressed at youth level with Oxford City, before bursting on to the scene at North Leigh in 2018/19.

Landers scored 24 goals as he helped the Millers avoid relegation from Division 1 Central, with his performances earning him a move to Maidenhead.

He made just two substitute appearances and was loaned out to Isthmian League side Cheshunt, but returned to Eynsham Park last November.

Landers picked up where he left off, hitting the net 12 times in 18 appearances – including notching every Millers goal in their 5-4 win at Bedford Town in January.

Meanwhile, Amer Awadh, Connor Roberts, Jack Harding, Lee Henderson, Giorgio Rasulo and Charlie Hawtin have all agreed to stay with Banbury for next season.
