NEW Ardley United boss Lee Matthews has started shaping his squad for next season with the announcement of eight new signings.

Four of them worked with the manager, appointed on a permanent basis in April, during his time at Didcot Town’s development side.

Caelan Isaac, Bradley Walton, Sam Eeles and Ty Hamilton have all jumped at the chance to work for Matthews again as Ardley prepare for the new Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division campaign.

Another three – Adam Waclawek, Jimmy Casbierd and Mark McGrogen – played for Ardley’s development manager Carl Reed at Chesterton.

Craig Robinson completes the group.

Isaac can play at right back or right midfield and featured for Didcot’s first team last season, while Walton is an attacking midfielder who can play up front.

Eeles and Waclawek will compete for the goalkeeper’s jersey.

The versatile Robinson, able to play at centre back or centre forward, is returning after joining last term from Easington Sports, while Hamilton will bolster the side’s attacking options.

Casbierd was prolific for Chesterton and can play on either flank or through the middle, while McGrogen is a utility player.
