OXFORD United supporters have been urged to aid the club by using their online store.

Retail was among the departments effectively shut down by the coronavirus lockdown.

But although the club’s shop near the Kassam Stadium remains closed, merchandise is now available online.

With no other income streams available as things stand, it has become an important source of cashflow.

And U’s owner Sumrith ‘Tiger’ Thanakarnjanasuth wants fans to log on and see if they could assist.

He told the club’s website: “We ask fans to take a look and maybe buy a home shirt or a t-shirt because it just starts to help the club get back on its feet.

“The same with season tickets when they go on sale.

“We truly appreciate the support you have given us and we have spoken to many fans over the last few weeks.

“All of them have said the same thing: we want to help and we will support our club.

“It feels like we have stuck together at a difficult time. In some ways things were reversed for the last few weeks.

“We have supported the fans where we could and I hope the special bond that exists between the club and its supporters will be even stronger after this experience.”
