MATT White and Jack Crowe ran in hat-tricks as Oxford Harlequins thumped Trowbridge 64-22.

The hosts ran in seven tries during a free-flowing second half against the South West 1 East strugglers.

White’s early try, converted by Dan Todd, was the only score until the 33rd minute, when Trowbridge kicked a penalty.

Martin Nutt crossed straight away and Todd added the extras, before the visitors scored a converted try to cut the gap to 14-10 at half-time.

The floodgates opened as Nutt and Crowe touched down in the first six minutes of the half, Todd converting both.

The fly half added a penalty to make it 31-10 as the game began to open up.

Crowe and White scored two more tries apiece, Allan Purchase also crossing, with Todd adding four conversions.

In the final few minutes Trowbridge scored two tries, one converted, but the contest had long been over.

Banbury Bulls fell to a battling 37-24 defeat at leaders Old Centralians.

The hosts went 10-0 up in no time at all, with tries from Sam Preece and Mike Mathers.

An Ed Phillips penalty cut the lead, but Rob Jones’s converted try made it 17-3.

It got worse for Banbury as Phillips was yellow-carded after a series of offences, Robert Winchle crossing for Old Centralians soon after.

But the visitors staged a mini-comeback, Tommy Gray with a solo try and Kieran Fitzgibbon going over after the break, Duncan Leese and Phillips converting to make it 22-17.

Old Centralians were soon back in the ascendancy with two tries, one converted.

Tom Macdonald ran in a converted try, before the hosts kicked a penalty.
