CHINNOR produced one of their best displays of the season to beat Darlington Mowden Park 37-27 in National League 1.

Tries from Will Harries, Jason Worrall, James Tyas, Dan Southworth and Kieran Goss helped the Oxfordshire side make it four home wins in a row and extend their unbeaten run to seven.

Darlington, who started the day level on points with Chinnor, led through Josh Hodge’s early try, Warren Seals converting.

But the hosts levelled moments later through Harries’s score, Laurence May adding the extras.

The visitors were the better side in the opening 20 minutes and led 15-7 through Max Davies’s try and a Seals penalty.

Chinnor responded well, though, to lead 18-15 at half-time as two May penalties sandwiched Worrall’s fine try.

The hosts made a dream start to the second period when Tyas drove over, May converting, to make it 25-15.

Darlington hit back as tries from Rob Farrar and Oliver Walker saw them lead by two points after 56 minutes.

But Chinnor were not to be outdone, with Southworth and Goss touching down and May adding a conversion.

Henley Hawks won 14-10 at Leicester Lions in National League 2 South to remain two points off the top.

The hosts led through an early penalty, but Henley hit back through Alex Bradley’s try, Brad Cook converting.

The Oxfordshire side pushed for another try but half-time came with the score still 7-3.

Another Henley score did not seem far away and it came 15 minutes into the second half.

Xav Andre touched down following a driving maul, with Cook again adding the extras.

Leicester scored a converted try ten minutes from time, but Henley saw the game out.
