SCOTT James delivered an assured performance to triumph on points in his 13th professional fight.

The Bicester BC super welterweight beat Liam Griffiths 40-36 in an entertaining bout at the Corn Exchange in Bedford.

James found his range early in the first round, bringing the crowd to their feet with an impressive hook and cross combination.

Both men went on the attack in round two, with the Bicester boxer growing in confidence as he targeted the body of Griffiths.

He began the third with a blistering combination to both the head and body, while a right uppercut to Griffiths’ torso shocked his opponent.

James continued to be the aggressor in round four, finishing the fight with an unrelenting attack before the final bell tolled.

He said: “It’s nice to get a win before the Christmas break.

“I’ll relax and enjoy my victory for a few days then I’ll be back in the gym to improve on my performance.”

Jordan Flynn takes to the ring for his first professional bout tonight.

The 23-year-old, who hails from Cowley, will fight London’s Daniel Alder at the Brentwood Centre, Essex.

“I’ve got to put on a show and introduce myself to the boxing world,” he said.
