ADAM Burden’s gold medal in the boys doubles crowned an excellent weekend for Oxfordshire at the Suffolk U17 tournaments.
The Oxfordshire player partnered Sussex’s Andrew Harrison to take the top prize in the silver event, while he claimed bronze in the singles and mixed doubles.
In the latter he teamed up with Rebecca Norkett, who joined Berkshire’s Jason Vincent to take mixed doubles gold in the bronze event and bronze in the girls’ singles.
But Norkett, partnered by Norfolk’s Jasmine Hudson, was beaten by fellow Oxfordshire player Jessica Street and Kent’s Melissa Mundy in the girls doubles final.
Norkett and Street teamed up to win bronze in the girls’ doubles, while the latter took silver in the girls’ singles.
At the Hampshire U13 tournament, Oxford’s Jamie Wakefield was beaten by doubles partner Bhabnish Kumar Bohidar in the singles, before the pair won the doubles.
