BEN Goodall has been rewarded for a superb domestic campaign with a call-up to the Great Britain squad for the World Championships.

The tumbler, from Harwell, will take his place in the 17-21-year-old team in Tokyo in December.

Two years ago, Goodall finished eighth in the same event, injury depriving him of the chance to compete in 2018.

However, he has bounced back in style this season, winning gold at both British qualifiers, claiming the English Tumbling title, before then taking the British crown.

Goodall is training hard before leaving for Japan at the end of the month, in between attending the Oxfordshire Sports Awards next Friday, where he has been shortlisted for the county’s sportsman of the year accolade
